18 Weeks

Baby K is the size of a Sweet Potato!

Maternity Clothes: The maternity tights I ordered from Old Navy came in and I'm in love! I am really ready for fall, though! It is still pretty hot here, so I'm wearing gym shorts or gauchos most of the time.

Gender:  IT'S A GIRL!!!

Movement:  I am finally feeling her move a little bit, and it is just the coolest thing! I'm an emotional basket case, so I balled my eyes out one of the first times I really felt her.

Cravings: Smoked sausage (still)... so Philip found a crock pot recipe that includes it that we're having for dinner tonight!

Symptoms: I have gotten sick several times in the past couple of weeks. I think Mozzarella sticks must be like poison to Bristol... I never want to eat them again!!

Total Weight Gain: 11 lbs.

What I Miss: Semi-clear skin... my acne is TERRIBLE and it's driving me insane!!

Best Moment of the Week: Feeling Bristol move for the first time!

What I'm Looking Forward To:  Staying at home!! My last day of work is Monday!! I'm also looking forward to my college roommate's wedding next weekend!

I've been taking weekly photos inspired by this blog I found on Pinterest! Here are my last 2 since I didn't blog last week:

16 Weeks

We had an awesome time at home last week! Since Baby K didn't cooperate at our regular appointment, my sweet husband found a 4D Ultrasound clinic in Savannah for us to visit! We scheduled an appointment, and it was even better than we imagined. We were not only able to find out the gender of our sweet little one, but we got to watch her on the big screen for 20 minutes! It was just amazing! Our tech, Danielle, even showed us the 4D view of her several times! We got a DVD, so we can watch it as much as we want. :) My mom also went with me and Philip, so that was really special.
Since we did find out on Saturday we put our Gender Reveal Party back on a few hours before! I want to give MAJOR PROPS to Gigi's Cupcakes in Savannah!! They normally need at least 1 day's notice to make gender reveal cupcakes, but when we walked in and explained our situation, they jumped right in and made it happen! They just had us pick from the flavors they had made already, and they filled them with pink filling and decorated the top with blue and pink pearls. They had them ready in 25 MINUTES!! It was truly awesome, and they were beautiful... and YUMMY!! Here are a few photos from our Gender Reveal Party:

Decorations:

Team Pink!

Team Blue!

The pink filling!! IT'S A GIRL!!

Haha! ;)

Our invitations!

Our beautiful cupcakes from Gigi's!

And on to my normal weekly post....

Baby is about the size of an avocado.

Maternity Clothes:  I finally went to Motherhood Maternity because my sister, Melissa, gave me a gift card! I got a cute red tunic and some maternity tights. I also ordered a couple things online from Old Navy this week. I am so blessed... my friend Jennifer gave me a TON of maternity clothes, so I really didn't need to buy much at all! I have also rediscovered my gauchos!! LOVE THEM!!

Gender:  IT'S A GIRL!!! We are SO excited!!

Movement:  I sometimes think I can feel her move, but it might just be normal tummy rumblings. ;)

Cravings: On Monday I got my smoked sausage that I've been craving, then a little later I wanted Orange Juice, then later it was Doritos. LOL...

Symptoms: Emotional... as if I wasn't emotional enough before pregnancy.

Total Weight Gain: 10 lbs.

What I Miss: Being able to eat pork chops and ham. I haven't been able to handle those meats.

Best Moment of the Week: Seeing Baby K on the big screen with Philip and mom and finding out she was a girl! It was unbelievable!

What I'm Looking Forward To:  Staying at home!! I have put in my notice at work, and I can't wait to be finished!

15 Weeks

Well, we made it home! We were not able to find out the gender on Tuesday because our little one was hiding... I think it makes for a cute picture, though!

As we are impatient in nature, we have made an appointment with an elective ultrasound clinic on Saturday in Savannah. We are taking my mom with us, and hopefully they will be able to determine the gender! If not, we will still get a session where we (along with my mom!) get to see our baby again and get some photos out of it... so, we're really excited!!

Maternity Clothes:  Wearing mostly normal pants still... embracing the rubber band trick on the button, though. If you don't know what I mean, look it up. It is brilliant and simple. I have also dug my amazing gauchos out of the bottom of a drawer. LOVE them.

Gender:  Still a mystery... hopefully only for a few more days!!

Movement:  I'm beginning to think I feel little movements... but since it's my first pregnancy, I can't really distinguish it from other tummy rumblings.

Cravings:  I am obsessed with Ginger Ale now... never drank it before pregnancy... and still sausage!!

Symptoms: I get tongue tied like ALL the time, so my sentences don't make any sense. Also, I say a random word in place of what I really meant, so another reason my sentences still don't make sense. (It makes for a lot of laughter at work while I'm training new people.)

Total Weight Gain: 7 lbs.

What I Miss:  Being able to sleep on my stomach... it's totally uncomfortable now if I even try.

Best Moment of the Week: Seeing our little one on the ultrasound... even though he/she was hiding the goods!

What I'm Looking Forward To:  Still finding out the gender of our baby!!

14 Weeks

Well, it has officially been a year to the day since my last post. Oops! My sister is encouraging me to blog again now that I am pregnant, so that I can keep everyone updated with more than just facebook photos. I am currently 14 weeks along. (I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow!) Philip and I are thrilled and terrified. Haha!

Baby is about the size of a lemon.

Maternity Clothes:  Right now I am mainly wearing regular pants/shorts that were too big for me before pregnancy. I did buy a pair of maternity jeans that I've worn a couple times. I'm wearing a lot of loose fitting flowy shirts, because I'm at that stage where you can't really tell if I'm pregnant or just have a pot belly. :)

Gender:  Hope to find out next week!! We are dying to know!

Movement:  None yet.

Cravings:  I have this weird craving for sausage! LOL! It is something I hardly ever eat, but I saw it on the Food Network early on and have been wanting it ever since!

Symptoms: I am just really tired all the time... and also a little crazy. Sorry Philip! ;)

Total Weight Gain: 7 lbs.

What I Miss:  Sleeping comfortably through the night.

Best Moment of the Week: On Tuesday, Philip made my lunch and breakfast while I was running late (we had to leave at 5:30am for work). After work, he took me out for frozen yogurt, and then went with me for pizza and karaoke with some friends that night! It was a great day, and I'm lucky to have such a caring husband!

What I'm Looking Forward To:  Finding out the gender of our baby and going home to Georgia for our gender reveal party!! (Please pray we are able to find out!!)

I've been taking weekly photos inspired by this blog I found on Pinterest! Here are my latest 2! I had to include 13 Weeks in this post because it was my favorite one! See you next week!

Worst blogger ever...

Well, I haven't posted since March. Oops... life goes on! Philip and I have been enjoying our house. I can't believe we've lived in it for almost a year now... craziness. We just made it through our 1st hurricane on the coast, so that was an adventure. We were fine. We only lost power for about 20 min. and kept our DirecTV signal the whole time minus a few times where it would freeze for a less than a minute. We had friends who live close to the water come and stay with us, so we played lots of games and ate pizza. (Thank you Domino's for opening during the storm... don't know what I would've done without you!)

Philip and I are also starting DDP Yoga which we're really excited about! DDP stands for Diamond Dallas Page. He was a WWE Superstar who started doing yoga to heal his body from years of wrestling. He then created a more intense yoga program of his own to challenge himself. Of course Philip is wants to do this because it was created by a wrestler... but we both want to lose some weight. He already bought our yoga mats, and we're ready to start!

I also want to ask anyone who is reading to pray for my good friend Laura, who I've mentioned before on my blog. Laura lives in Haiti, and has gotten a tropical fever in the last week. I'm not sure of the details of it. I think it is flu-like and causes sickness and pain, but it is not life threatening. She is flying home tonight to recover in the states. Please pray for her healing so that she can get back to her sweet kids and ministry in Haiti.

Well, that's all for now... I'll try to post more often! =)

My American Idol Top 12

Well, I've always loved the show... and this year I'm very impressed with the talent. There are some good guys this year, but there are some INCREDIBLE girls. Here are my top 12 in no particular order:

Skylar Laine- She's from Brandon, MS! But that's not the only reason I picked her. She has been called a young Reba throughout the competition by the judges. She has a great country voice, and has a lot of confidence for an 18-year-old.

Shannon Magrane- This girl could win it all! She is only 16, but she can just flat out SING. Wow. During Hollywood Week, she shocked me with "A Wonderful World".

Elise Testone- I love her raspy voice, and she did justice to Adele's "One and Only" last night.

Jessica Sanchez- I remember she was good in her Vegas group performance, but last night she blew me away. She had the best performance of the week in my opinion.

Jen Hirsch- An early favorite of mine, for sure. She sang "Georgia On My Mind" in Hollywood week, and I've loved her ever since. She sang 3rd last night, so I hope America didn't forget about her!

Hollie Cavanaugh- She was great last year, but didn't make it to the top 24. She was incredible last night taking on Christina's "Reflection".

Colton Dixon- Probably my favorite guy in the competition. I just love his pure voice! It is beautiful.

Phillip Phillips- From Leesburg, GA! Woot woot! Phillip is really unique and the judges really love him. I wasn't crazy about his song this week, but I'm sure he'll make it.

Joshua Ledet- I was saying AMEN at the end of his song on Tuesday. Wow! He brought the judges to their feet with his amazing gospel sound.

Adam Brock- They call him "White Chocolate", but Philip and I call him "Memphis" bc we always think about when he sang "Walkin' in Memphis". Great soulful voice!

Reed Grimm- The guy is a little crazy, and the judges have compared his musical genius to Casey from last year. I like him! He has a great voice and TONS of personality, so I love to watch him perform.

Heejun Han- You gotta love Heejun!! He's hysterical, and he has such a beautiful voice.

Others worth mentioning- I love Erika Van Pelt, too! I just had to cut someone, and unfortunately it was her. If they add a 13th like they did last year, I would add Erica!

I also need to mention that the judges are obsessed with Deandre Brackensick. I cannot stand his voice... His last 2 performances he sang almost entirely in falsetto. I think it's awesome when you hit one little run way up there, but dude!! The whole song?! You just sound like a woman. NOT cool. I'm sure if America doesn't vote him in, the judges will give him the wild card. That frustrates me, bc I know that means that one of my picks isn't going to make it.

We'll see how it goes!

From house to home.

I have literally not blogged in a month. In that time I have gone to Virginia to meet my new nephew Keagan, who is adorable!! I have worked a lot, started working out, started trying to eat healthier, worked on decorating the house, etc. I know some of these sound like New Year's resolutions, but they're really not. I really want to live a healthier lifestyle. Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred was the beginning. I got the video months ago, but realized I couldn't do it in my 3rd floor apt. Now that we're in the house I feel that it's much easier to exercise. I'm just not a gym person... or much of an outdoor runner. Anyway, that's enough of that.

Now the fun part- decorating the house!! I got these awesome prints from B&A Prints on Etsy!

I absolutely love them! They have an amazing shop, and will customize your order for no extra charge! I got them to add a few cities to both Mississippi and Georgia, and they shipped them the day after my order. I got the matted frames from Michael's for $6 each, and Pip hung them in our entryway right under our awesome Knight collage that the Cowart's gave us as a wedding gift.

I also got a few great items at one of my FAVORITE stores... Kirklands! Beginning with my colorful rug in the dining room...

And my cute little lamp for my desk that was only $9.95...

... and my $26 Clearance lamp!!! Also the console table it's sitting on. :) It matches our kitchen cabints perfectly (which is what it is facing).

Tune in next time to see my homemade roman shade I made for the front door... bc I haven't hung it yet. haha.
